Real Madrid's dreams of champions league glory in the bernabeu came all crashing down after a late goal in the second half by Bosnian born midfielder Miralem Pjanic .
After seeing Madrid's Ronaldo opening the scoring with just 6 mins on the clock, I was so sure that Real were meant to break their 5 year knockout jinx and progress to the next round, but it was not meant to be and the so called underdogs, who were so disciplined in their defense in the first leg came out on top equalizing 1-1 with 15 mins to spare and wining 2-1 on aggregate.
After a lavish spending of almost 350+ millions dollars on a dream squad of super-stars and long awaited buying of Kaka clubbed along with buying of the world’s most expensive player C.Ronaldo from Man Utd, Real Madrid could not progress to the quarters of the Champions League. This proves that money is not everything and Real can’t buy themselves a 10th champions league crown but will have to work for it.
This is good news for all Braca fans as the loss is going to put a major dent in Real’s confidence and this might help us on our way to winning the La Liga. And with all the new coach linkup rumors after the loss, I hope that Real are stupid enough to sack Pellegrini.
But for now I think it will be good for Barca fans to savor this moment and just focus on the two major tasks at hand one beating Valencia and then beating Stuttgart to progress to the next round of the Champions League.
